First Presbyterian Church’s (FPC) mission is making disciples to glorify God. The Director of Children and Family Ministries leads our church in making disciples of the children and families in our church and community.

We seek someone who is passionate about seeing FPC’s values realized: 1) investing in every generation; 2) welcoming our neighbors; 3) serving others with compassion; 4) sharing and receiving the Gospel; and 5) following the Word of God.

○ Fostering a partnership with parents and guardians to make disciples of our children, both through
one-on-one time with families and through weekly communication of resources and
○ Building a relationship with volunteers to help build rapport and momentum for each children’s
ministry effort within our church
○ Leading the Christian Education ministry committee
○ Directing our children’s Sunday morning programming, including Children’s sermons, volunteer
recruitment, and discipleship curriculum
○ Directing our weekly KidZone program, serving elementary students and their families after school
by helping them grow in their knowledge and relationship with Jesus
○ Directing our annual summer VBS program
○ Overseeing our Nursery Ministry as well as supervision of our part-time Nursery Director
○ Attending all appropriate staff meetings
○ Assisting with other needs of the church, as needed

Desired Qualifications
Active Life in Christ – A disciple of Jesus with an active life of worship and prayer
Desire to Make Disciples – Passion for leading others to new, deeper life in Christ
Covenant Partner – Must be willing to become a covenant partner of FPC
Faith- Christian faith aligned with the beliefs of FPC and ECO (our denomination)
Education – Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Experience – At least one year of working with children in a church or other setting
Skills – Comfortable with or willing to learn Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive)
Strengths – Creative, energetic self-starter; Able to work within a budget; Exhibits relational and leadership skills; Ease with speaking to large groups effectively, projecting joy, creativity and enthusiasm
