Overview
First Baptist Church of New Castle is a church of approximately 300 members in Lawrence County, PA. Situated just outside the city of New Castle in the suburb of Neshannock, the student ministry of FBC has the opportunity to serve nine surrounding school districts. The ideal candidate to lead this ministry allows biblical-theological fidelity to drive philosophy of ministry, is committed to expositional preaching, intentionally disciples students and ministry volunteers, exhibits teamwork through cooperation with other ministry staff personnel, is present and known within the surrounding community, and is diligent in building the ministry towards growth in breadth and depth.

Qualifications
-Has accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and has publicly professed faith through baptism.
-Meets the biblical qualifications for eldership as found in 1 Tim 3:1-7, Tit 1:5-9, and 1 Pet 5:1-5 and aspires to the office of elder.
-Agrees with and submits to the statement of faith of Converge Worldwide (https://www.converge.org/about/beliefs).
-Demonstrates a commitment to growth in character, competence, and conviction with a teachable attitude.
-Possesses the ability to both give and receive criticism with humility and grace.
-Engages his community evangelistically in ways consistent with his spiritual gifting (i.e., speaking to others about Jesus, praying for the lost, giving financially to mission) while always being ready to give a reason for his hope in Christ (Col 4:2-6, 1 Pet 3:15).
-Demonstrates a growing love for and involvement in the community of Lawrence County, PA.
-Manages his personal social media accounts as an ambassador for Christ.
-Master of Arts or Master of Divinity from an evangelical seminary is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
-Initiate and build ministry around the biblical-theological values of FBC as a self-starter.
-Create and maintain a culture of intentional discipleship among students and ministry volunteers.
-Oversee and develop all content/curriculum for students grades 6-12.
-Teach and equip students on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and other contexts throughout the year.
-Plan and oversee regular events such as retreats, service projects, and small group activities.
-Perform daily administrative tasks such as weekly communication with parents and ministry volunteers in cooperation with an administrative assistant.
-Recruit, develop, and lead a team of ministry volunteers.
-Engage in leadership and pastoral development through reading, conferences, workshops, and seminary courses as needed.
-Meet regularly with Lead Pastor for ongoing discipleship and development.
-Other pastoral duties such as regular pulpit supply, weddings, funerals, staff/elder meetings, etc. as assigned by the Lead or Executive Pastors.
