Position Specifics: 40 hours/week + benefits
Supervisor: Lead Pastor, Elder Team
The essential functions and responsibilities of this position may flex and change as needed to best fit the gifts of the person hired and the growth needs at Park.

PARK STAFF PURPOSE: Paid ministry positions at Park exist not to do ministry for the church family, but rather to equip the church family to do ministry for the advancement of Jesus’ kingdom. Park aims to hire disciples of Jesus who are committed to making more disciples of Jesus (Mt 28:19-20) by “equipping the saints for the work of ministry” (Eph 4:12).

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: To develop and implement a plan to foster and deepen disciple-making environments and events throughout the Park family.

SECONDARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION: To function as a utility player on the pastoral staff, serving in a variety of areas to equip and empower Park to reach out to and care for one another.

Develop and implement disciple-making environments and events that foster adult discipleship (50%)
Environments (Community Groups + meals + trainings)
Shepherd CG leaders by providing ongoing relational connection and leadership coaching through informal connection and formal training/coaching
Recruit and onboard CG leaders
Integrate attenders into CGs
Oversee creation of CG discussion guides
Lead a CG
Events (Classes/Seminars + Connect Events)
Plan quarterly classes and/or seminars for deeper learning
Coordinate quarterly Connect Events to help foster community among the family
Develop and implement disciple-making environments and events that foster student discipleship (25%)
Environments – develop Community Groups for teens (grades 6-12)
Events – coordinate monthly events that help foster relational connection for teens

SECONDARY PURPOSE: Utility Player (25%)
Work with ministry staff to help plan and prepare for church events as needed
Work with pastoral team to plan and preach sermon series
Provide pastoral counsel as needed, able, and agreed upon
Officiate weddings and funerals as needed, able, and agreed upon
Provide pastoral visitation as needed, able, and agreed upon
Work with pastoral staff on ministry development as needed, able, and agreed upon

The individual hired for this position is expected to meet the following biblical qualifications:
A decision and desire to love Jesus and others is evident (Mt 22:37-39; 1 Jn 4:7-21)
A commitment to growing as a disciple of Jesus who longs to make more disciples of Jesus is evident (Mt 28:19-20)
Commitment to servant leadership (Jn 13:1-20; Mark 10:35-45)
Visible evidence of a life growing in the Fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-25)
Possesses the characteristics of an elder (1 Tim 1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-5)
Demonstrates a desire for unity in the Body of Christ; displayed in characteristics of humility, patience, forgiveness, and ability to work well with others (Eph 4:1-6; Col 3:12-17)
Ability to rightly handle the word of truth, identifying and avoiding theological error from theological truth (2 Tim 2:14-16)
Commitment to the local church; evidenced by past involvement, observable fruit, and a good recommendation from a previous local church (Acts 2:42-46; Heb 10:24-25)
Has experience developing and leading teams of people in the context of the local church
Aligns with the Park’s Family Membership Covenant and is willing to become a member
Agrees with and supports the mission and vision of Park
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s or equivalent preferred)
At least 1-2 years of ministry experience in a local church preferred
Licensed with the EFCA, or willingness to go through the licensing process
