Time: 40hr. per Week
Overview: The Hospitality Center exists to provide hospitality to international
students on Twin Cities university campuses through activities such as friendship
meals, day trips, classes, and more. This is done with genuine love and care from
volunteers to students sharing culture, friendship and faith, in order for students to
feel welcomed in Minnesota.
Purpose of Position:
The Program Director will enhance the mission of The Hospitality Center by
directing, managing, and creating all programs and events offered to international
students on Twin Cities university campuses. This position leads with support from
the Communications & Volunteer departments, overseeing staff, interns, and student
volunteers within the Programming department.
❖ Responsibilities
● Analyzes monthly international student social, emotional, practical and relational
needs to develop new programs and enhance current programs. This is done
through getting to know international students groups, evaluating past events, and
learning from stakeholders what good activities may be.
● Assigns work and evaluates performance of all staff members in the department.
● Assists staff through individual and group meetings to analyze specific programs,
understand program development, and increase use of individual skills.
● Develops and manages organization’s program budget.
● Establishes systematic processes with the programming team and Operations
Manager for clear day-to-day operations.
Staff Signature
● Expands reach of activities into new areas such as apartments, new campuses,
student groups and more.
● Builds and supervises the registered student group for training, cultural
awareness, applying for grants and activities year round.
● Sets strategies in place under the direction of the Executive Director and
Supervising Board to reach all international students in the Twin Cities. Continues the
recording and assessing of key performance indicators on a regular basis.
❖ Qualifications:
● Willingness to work multiple weekends and/or nights a month.
● Proven ability to manage high volume of tasks with organization, communication
and timeliness.
● 3-5 years of program coordination/planning experience. Background with global
community preferred.
● Demonstrated experience in leading others to carry out tasks as well as vision.
Ability to initiate change and motivate staff.
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
● Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, problem solving skills, critical thinking.
Demonstrated adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
