I grew up in Western New York and attended Cedarville University for my undergraduate degree. At Cedarville, I met my wife, Julia, as we helped a nearby ministry plant a church in Springfield, OH. There we served neighborhood youth and helped participants in the church’s addiction recovery program. After graduating, we moved to Beijing, China to teach English and pursue ministry opportunities there.¬†We have three sons: Isaac (4), Levi (3), and Elijah (1). My greatest ambition in life is to bring honor to Jesus by living as a faithful husband and father.

During our three years in Beijing, we were members of an international church (Beijing Baptist Church). The pastor of this church discipled me and gave me a vision for pastoral ministry in the local church. We left China in June 2015 so that I could pursue an M.Div at Bethlehem College & Seminary.
As we look towards life and ministry after seminary, I want to lead a church by serving as a pastor. I feel like the Lord has equipped me to be a pastor who shepherds a church by using a number of different skills: preaching, counseling, teaching, working alongside other elders, etc., rather than focusing on a particular kind of pastoral work (i.e., a “preaching” pastor or a “discipleship” pastor). I am looking for a pastoral job that focuses more on shepherding people and personally equipping others to shepherd, not just managing programs.
Because of our experience in international contexts, we are also looking for a pastoral role in a diverse or international setting, perhaps in or near a city.
