Since our founding, Bethlehem College and Seminary has maintained a commitment to delivering a God-centered, Bible-saturated Education in Serious Joy at a remarkably affordable tuition rate. Every residential student receives a $10,000 Serious Joy Scholarship, which enables them to graduate without the burden of student loan debt and launch immediately into life and ministry. I am pleased to announce two new scholarships that make this extraordinary education even more accessible for a select number of accomplished applicants: The Chancellor’s Scholarship and The John Piper Scholarship. Both initiatives are named in honor of Bethlehem College and Seminary’s founding Chancellor and Professor of Biblical Exegesis, whose leadership and teaching have indelibly marked this institution.
First, The Chancellor’s Scholarship at Bethlehem College and Seminary is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship available to one outstanding College applicant and one outstanding Seminary applicant each academic year.
Here are the eligibility requirements to be considered for The Chancellor’s Scholarship:
- Applicants for the residential Master of Divinity pastoral apprenticeship program must have a 3.75 cumulative GPA from an accredited B.A. or B.S. program and significant ministry involvement in a local church and/or campus ministry for at least two years.
- Applicants for the residential B.A. programs must have a minimum composite score on a major standardized test (30 ACT, 1360 SAT, or 99 CLT), a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.75 on official high school transcripts and college transcripts (for transfer applicants).
- All applicants for The Chancellor’s Scholarship must have strong academic and pastoral recommendations, must complete an interview with a Bethlehem faculty member, and must submit an 800–1,000 essay responding to this prompt: “Why do you desire to pursue an Education in Serious Joy at Bethlehem College and Seminary?” Essays must be written without the use of AI in any form (in keeping with Bethlehem’s standards for writing assignments).
- To continue receiving The Chancellor’s Scholarship, the student must maintain full-time student status with a 3.5 cumulative GPA and be an active member of a TCT Network church or other approved partner church.
- Submit all application materials by March 1. Applicants will be notified by April 1 and must confirm their scholarship award with a non-refundable deposit by May 1.
Second, The John Piper Scholarship to Bethlehem College provides a one-year full-tuition scholarship for a limited number of excellent undergraduate students who are recommended by pastors and leaders of strategic partner churches and ministries. After the first year of studies, John Piper Scholars will pay the extraordinarily low normal tuition rate subsidized by the $10,000 Serious Joy Scholarship.
Here are the eligibility requirements to be considered for The John Piper Scholarship:
- Applicants for the residential B.A. programs must have a minimum composite score on a major standardized test (26 ACT, 1240 SAT, or 87 CLT) and a 3.5 cumulative GPA on official high school transcripts and college transcripts (for transfer applicants).
- Applicants must have a strong recommendation by either (a) a pastor of a participating church partner at which your family is a current member (e.g., Treasuring Christ Together, select apprenticing churches) or (b) a teacher, leader, or staff member from a participating education partner (e.g., ACCS or SCL affiliated Classical Christian high school you attend or graduated from, select gap year programs, and Worldview Academy). Applicants must also complete an interview with a Bethlehem faculty member.
- Applicants must commit to live on campus, work toward the completion of a B.A. degree while enrolled in full-time college classes (12 or more credits per semester) maintaining a 3.0 minimum GPA, and be active members of a TCT Network church or other approved partner church.
- Submit all application materials by March 1. Applicants will be notified by April 1 and must confirm their scholarship award with a non-refundable deposit by May 1.
