Heard in Heaven

We have now begun our seventh year of operation as Bethlehem College & Seminary. I can scarcely believe what the Lord has done over these last six-plus years.  We have gone from a fledgling educational enterprise to a fully functioning, fully accredited institution dedicated to raising up the next generation of Bible-saturated, God-honoring, Christ-exalting, nations-loving ministry leaders.

And while God deserves all the honor and praise and glory for what he has accomplished already and what he will accomplish in the future, I cannot adequately express my thanks to you who have so faithfully prayed for us throughout these early years of existence.  Please don’t stop!  Just because many good things are happening doesn’t mean we no longer need the fervent prayers of the saints!  In fact, it’s just the contrary.  We need your prayers now more than ever.  We can fully expect that Satan will step up his attacks on us, and we know that the only way for us to continue to be effective in the fulfillment of our God-given mission is for us to be upheld by the many prayers of our friends and partners.

And when he had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each holding a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. (Revelation 5:8)

This verse is very humbling and encouraging.  It’s an amazing truth to contemplate: that every prayer that you and I utter, with sincerity, is heard in heaven and is carried by the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders before the Lamb of God in all his glory!

Thank you, dear friends, for serving us in this critical manner.  Please continue to hold us up to the Lord that we may serve him in the most effective manner possible and give him the most glory possible. And, by the way, there’s still time to register for Experience Bethlehem 2015.  Just click here to find out more or to register for this exciting event.

With deep gratitude for you,

President Tim Tomlinson’s message at Chapel,
August 25, 2015: “Sin, Grace, and Loving God”

Join us for our weekly Chapel Service on Thursday, September 10th, 12:45-1:45pm, featuring Professor Joe Rigney on “Biblical Sexuality and Our Society.”

Prayer Requests:

1. Please pray for the Lord’s blessings on Experience Bethlehem 2015.  We want this to be a wonderful, encouraging, uplifting time together with all those whom the Lord will bring here in September.  Please also pray for Chancellor Piper as he prepares to lead a live Look At the Book seminar during this event.

2.  Please pray for our students—especially the 65+ new students who are in the major adjustment phase of their transition to being students at Bethlehem College & Seminary

3.  Also, pray for the kickoff of our new scholarship initiative.  In two weeks, we’ll be launching the Serious Joy Scholarship campaign that will be critical to our ability to provide a top-notch, theological education to our students at a price that they can actually afford to pay. Please pray for a resoundingly positive response to this initiative.
