Reviewing books is a great service to the church and to the academy, and BCS Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies, Brian Tabb, has published a new book review in the journal Themelios. This article examines a new volume of collected essays on the book of Acts called Reading Acts Today: Essays in Honour of Loveday C. A. Alexander, edited by Steve Walton, Thomas E. Phillips, Lloyd Pietersen, and F. Scott Spencer and published by T & T Clark.

The book is a festschrift, or collection of essays from prominent scholars, written in celebration of the career of Loveday Alexander, Professor of Biblical Studies at the University of Sheffield and a Canon-Theologian of Chester Cathedral. Dr. Alexander has contributed much to the understanding of the intersection of the ancient classical world and the world of the New Testament.
