Commencing Into Ministry

Share

Bethlehem College & Seminary’s 8th annual commencement will be held in just two weeks.  It’s a profound and worshipful service that is such a significant marker for all of us involved.  For the students, of course, it marks not only the end of their studies at our school and a celebratory moment recognizing the accomplishment of earning a degree, but also the launching, or commencing, of their lives into the next season of growth and maturity and ministry that the Lord has in store for them.  For faculty and staff, it is a “handing off” of our graduates to those churches and ministries where they will begin their next phase of life. As always, we pray that we have done our best to prepare them for the future and that we have inspired them to live their lives in such a way as to bring the lost to Christ

Commencement, along with coming to Christ and getting married, is one of life’s pivotal moments.  For these students it’s filled with anticipation, and perhaps some trepidation as well. But it’s all about the future.  They are commencing with life in a way that they have never experienced it before.

Because of the significance of the commencement service, we have strived to make it deeply worshipful, appropriately serious, yet joyful, and all aimed at making much of God.  We want God to be glorified in all that we do—and especially through the annual commencement service.

Therefore, if you live in the Twin Cities area, we heartily invite you to join us for this very special event on Friday, May 18th, at 7:00pm at the downtown campus of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  Your presence will be a great encouragement to our graduates as well as our faculty and staff.  I’m confident you will be greatly blessed and encouraged as you witness this exciting and uplifting “launching” of these men and women into life and ministry.

Thank you for the role that each of you plays in the life of Bethlehem College & Seminary.  Your prayers, your direct involvement as volunteers, your presence at our events, your financial contributions, and your encouragement are all essential to us.

May the Lord bless you!

President

Prayer Requests:

  1.  Please pray for our students and faculty over the last two weeks of the semester.  Pray that they would persevere and even thrive as they work to gain the greatest benefit from their studies.
  2. Please especially pray for our graduating students.  Many of them already know what they’ll be doing after graduation.  However, some of them are still seeking the Lord’s leading. Pray that they would pursue opportunities and wait on the Lord in hope for their next destination.
  3.  Please also be in prayer for our financial opportunity before us.  We are pushing toward our goal of accomplishing a $300,000 matching grant.  Pray for a remarkable outpouring of generosity in the coming weeks/months.
