Spiritual & Ministry Qualifications
– Meet the Biblical qualifications of an Elder as laid out in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, etc.
– Have a strong commitment to the Word of God being primary in all teaching, shepherding, and leadership of the Church.
– Have a Calvinistic understanding of salvation but be able to charitably/lovingly shepherd those who don’t. Have a high view of God’s Law & Gospel in a Baptistic covenantal (progressive covenantal) framework of putting the whole Bible together.
– A commitment to the ordinary means of grace and healthy membership in a local church is the primary means of spiritual growth in the Christian life.
– A commitment to lead Christians to view all spheres of life (marriage, parenting, business, work, politics, etc.) brought into submission to God and His word.
Job Description
General Pastoral Duties:
– Counseling, meeting with, and ongoing discipleship of members
– Have an open home where members are welcomed into your family’s life. Be willing to lead a small group.
– Connect with visitors and communicate the vision and mission of the Church.
– Perform the regular duties of an Elder, including participating in a monthly Elder’s meeting (help with hospital and shut-in visitation)
– Preach 10-12 times a year.
– Help with all other pastoral responsibilities (lead in the ordinances, marriages, funerals, etc.)
Youth Ministry
– Set the vision for and lead existing youth ministry.
– Weekly or bi-weekly Youth service centered on preaching/teaching the Word of God.
– Plan monthly or bi-monthly youth fellowship events.
– Plan a yearly youth retreat or camp.
Adult Sunday School
– In conjunction with the Senior Pastor, set the teaching vision and schedule for adult Sunday school.
– Primary teacher of the Adult Sunday School class.
– Train up other men to lead and teach classes to expand the number of classes to be taught.
Men’s Ministry
– In conjunction with the Senior Pastor, set the teaching vision and schedule for a monthly Men’s breakfast and teaching.
– Plan a yearly Men’s retreat.

Small Group
– Oversee existing small groups and give training, counsel, and encouragement to Small Group leaders.
– Recruit leaders and organize/oversee new small groups.

Miscellaneous Duties
– Help start and co-lead a midweek or Sunday evening Service.
– Help shape the vision and direction of kids’ ministry.
– Help lead and teach our Men’s Leadership cohort.
– Create new programs or ministries to provide a holistic discipleship to Christians in all areas of life.
Compensation will be a competitive, holistic package. We desire to take care of our Pastors and their families by ensuring all their needs are sufficiently met and they don’t need to worry about making money through other means.
