The Pastoral Assistant is a part-time ministry position that oversees the education and discipleship ministries of Christ Bible Church. This position is directly accountable to the Senior Pastor and the elders of Christ Bible Church.
This position is 15-20 hours per week with time spent in teaching, administration, discipleship, preaching (as needed), and being discipled by the senior pastor. Pay will be $1,500-2,000 a month.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Profession of faith in Jesus Christ.
2. While the candidate will not be an elder of CBC, he should meet the biblical requirements for an elder (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Tit. 1:5-9).
3. Eagerness to learn and grow as a pastor alongside a 2-year-old, thriving church.
4. Weekly meetings with senior pastor to plan and implement the ministries of CBC and to grow professionally.
5. Giftedness in preaching and teaching to various age groups.
6. Postsecondary theological training, whether completed or in progress, the candidate should have graduated or be pursuing graduation with a degree related to ministry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The core responsibilities of this position are to help build and oversee the educational and discipleship ministries of CBC.
1. Help develop, implement, and oversee a new fellowship group ministry.
2. Oversee youth and young adults ministry.
3. Recruit and train volunteers to run the various ministries of CBC especially for children and pre-k ministries. This includes scheduling teachers, providing curriculum, training, and background checks.
4. Help the Senior Pastor with visitation, preaching, teaching, and vision-casting as needed.
5. Participate in the regular life of the church by regularly attending worship services and other ministries.
6. Preach and teach as needed and directed by the senior pastor and the elders.
