Bethlehem College and Seminary is a very special place to us. To begin with, it is where the Lord united our paths. For that, we are eternally grateful. Secondly, the education we received impacted us deeply. The emphasis on Big God theology, as well as the instruction in how to labor to find the accurate meaning of the text have shaped Alberto’s (M.Div. ’22) ministry. The training in how to read critically, understand, extrapolate, and apply truths gleaned from the great books of Western tradition has been invaluable for Abby (B.A. ’20). For both of us, this education has fostered a deeper love for the Truth than we had before attending.

Since completing our time at Bethlehem, we have been serving at Twin Cities Bible Church in Maplewood, MN. Here Alberto has labored as pastoral assistant and has preached and taught through multiple books of the Bible. In the meantime, the Lord has also drawn our hearts toward Italy. We are working toward moving there long-term to join and serve a local church (Sola Grazia) in Caltanissetta, Sicily. There, we will serve in a similar way as we are currently, with the additional goal and desire of training up men for the work of ministry. God willing, we will move in the spring of 2027. Because of The Serious Joy Scholarship, we have been able to launch into ministry debt-free.

A few weeks ago we attended Bethlehem’s commencement. As we walked around the familiar place, talked with old friends and new, heard the messages, and breathed Bethlehem’s air, we looked at each other and said, “we are always blessed when we come here.” At Bethlehem, we have found a place of spiritual edification, respite, and a people truly zealous for the Lord. For all of this, we are eternally grateful.
