Overview: Fremont Evangelical Free Church strives for our congregation to grow in its love for Christ and to make Christ known. Our consistent prayer is that the gospel, community, and mission become more important within the life of each individual God has given to us to serve. To that end we are seeking a part time (15-20 hours) worship leader who loves Jesus, is called to a worship ministry that is committed to leading the congregation in exalting Christ and glorifying His name through song. At Fremont E-Free, we sing modern worship songs mixed with updated hymns. We aim to sing gospel-rich, Christ-exalting lyrics, no matter the style.
The Worship Leader serves the church by administering the worship time during regular Sunday worship services and additional worship times including Good Friday, Harvest Festival, Christmas Eve, the Lord’s Supper, and youth meetings and events. This includes providing oversight to music volunteers, arranging rehearsals, managing the worship budget, and working closely with the Elder over worship in planning music appropriate to each service.
Qualifications
• Must be in full agreement with the Fremont E-Free Church Distinctives (www.fremontefree.org/fremont-e-free-church-distinctives), Constitution, and the EFCA Statement of Faith and be willing to become a member of Fremont E-Free Church.
• Must be of established Christian character, sound in faith and doctrine.
• Must be proficient to lead vocally and instrumentally with guitar and/or piano in gathered worship services.
• Must have experience in leading a team of musicians.
• Should also have the ability to recruit, lead, and develop musicians, volunteers, and support staff, both individually and collectively.
• Should have experience with audio and video technology and the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and train volunteers to use standard industry equipment.
Responsibilities
• Direct the planning, organizing, and evaluating of the Christ-centered worship ministry.
• Work together with other members of the pastoral team to craft Christ-honoring worship services.
• Recruit, train, and schedule worship team members (music, sound, media).
• Lead and oversee midweek and Sunday morning rehearsals for the worship team.
• Supervise and maintain all supplies, instruments, and equipment related to the worship ministry.
• Organize music, lyric sheets, chording, and arrangement of music. Determine song keys and the assignment of leads.
• Prepare an estimated annual worship ministry budget and administer the approved worship ministry budget.
• Stay current and informed on the latest church worship practices (specifically as it relates to new worship songs and music).
• Consult and/or assist in musical preparation for weddings, funerals, and other church related activities.
General Information: Fremont Evangelical Free Church is located in Fremont, Nebraska. The Fremont community has a population of approximately 28,000 and is 20 minutes west of Omaha and 50 minutes north of Lincoln. On Sunday mornings our average worship attendance is currently around 450 people. Our local body is led by seven elders, three of which are on full-time staff with the church. While the congregation formally votes on all significant matters, it is the elders that formulate and bring vision to the body for approval.
