We love the philosophy and vision for education that God has given Chancellor Piper. We don’t think there is a better expression of what education is or what its goals should be. We also find amazing the reality that the best college education that we believe exists also has one of the most affordable tuitions for higher education. The Serious Joy Scholarship seriously filled us with joy as we considered and ultimately made the decision to invest in Bethlehem for the education of our eldest.

In the short time that our daughter has been a freshman at Bethlehem, we have seen exciting growth in her devotion to Jesus, advancement in her young adulthood, and further development of her creativity! She continues to be delighted by the fruitfulness of the low student to professor ratio and the interactive nature of classes. Additionally, her peers, who she walks alongside daily, are earnestly seeking to be imitators of Christ, and that light shines brightly both inside and outside of the school walls. Within the first semester, the freshman class was encouraged to plug into the local church and serve in the community. This demonstrates a beautiful heart posture for letting the love and joy—fostered by their Biblical studies throughout the week—overflow in an expression of godliness cultivated in each student’s personal walk. These priceless aspects that are incorporated and perpetuated by Bethlehem are made extremely accessible by The Serious Joy Scholarship, and we are so grateful that it exists for God’s great glory and our abundant joy.
