From March 19–21, 2012, in Frederic, WI, our Associate Professor of Old Testament Jason DeRouchie spoke five times on the theme “The Story of God’s Glory in Christ: A Gospel-Centered Overview of Christian Scripture.” This was the seventh time DeRouchie has offered theological training and pastoral encouragement to these rural church leaders, and he was delighted in the opportunity to return.
DeRouchie’s work is the outgrowth of a partnership between Bethlehem Seminary and Hands to the Plow Ministries, and it stands as an expression of BCS’s commitment to equip Christian leaders around the world with tools for relieving theological famine. Several dozen pastors and lay leaders from numerous evangelical denominations attended, and most of them do not have the opportunity for this kind of theological enrichment. This was a time of refreshment in Word and fellowship for these shepherds who are daily leading flocks through trials.
