Continued Grace

God continues to be gracious to Bethlehem College and Seminary!

Last week we held the annual meeting of the trustees and Dr. Brian Tabb’s Inauguration as President of Bethlehem College and Seminary.  In these two events—and many others recently—God’s kindness and favor continues to be shown to our school.  Here is a sample of those kindnesses:

  • At the recent trustee meeting, the trustees unanimously adopted President Tabb’s proposed abridgement of the current 13 core values to the following 7 core values:
    • God-Centered
    • Bible-saturated
    • Church-based
    • Historically Rooted
    • Missions Minded
    • Intentionally Relational, and
    • Remarkably Affordable.
  • The vitality and growth of students at the school—both the growth of the students themselves, and the growing number of students at Bethlehem. Our incoming class size was the largest that it has been in several years, and the hum of increased activity at the school is evident.
  • The generosity of those who give to Bethlehem, and the growing list of both individuals and organizations that are considering giving to Bethlehem for the first time.
  • The inauguration of Dr. Brian Tabb—attended by friends and family, students, alumni, staff, faculty, trustees, and honored guests from other institutions, along with Bethlehem’s two former Presidents.
  • The flourishing of the relationship that Bethlehem has with Desiring God and with both The North Church and Bethlehem Baptist Church.
  • The vision for student housing that includes the very real possibility of both the Bethesda Apartments and the Fourplex being available for students in the fall of 2025.
  • The hiring of Joe Krekelberg as Chief Financial Officer and VP of Operations for the school.
  • The healthy and happy functioning of the President’s cabinet.
  • That the trustees with expiring terms are willing and ready to continue serving the school for another three-year commitment.
  • The recently held Godward Life conference had robust attendance this year—increasing approximately 50% from the year prior.

These are a sample of the many things that God has done and continues to do for the school in this season. While other academic institutions are struggling, we are thriving.  So here is my exhortation and request for you: pray and ask God that we would be good and faithful servants, and that we would hold fast to the promise of the reward. (Matthew 25:23).  May we not grow complacent or grow weary of doing good.  May we not presume on God’s goodness but seek Him and eagerly participate in the good works that He has prepared beforehand for us to walk in.

Thank you for your continued prayers and generosity,

Tom Lutz
Chairman, Board of Trustees
