“I don’t think seminary is God’s will for me,” I told my wife four years ago on my birthday. “I’ve been praying for 13 years now. I am going to stop asking.” She kept praying. I reminded her of the odds: a deep discount, even a full-tuition scholarship, still would not be sufficient. Three years later, God answered those prayers. The answer came in the form of a special scholarship grant: The Alex Steddom International Student Fund. I am grateful to God’s providence through both the seminary and the donors. The Lord of the harvest is sending laborers and is providing for their journeys. I am excited to begin classes this fall.
“My eyes opened to see the Gospel and the Glory of God. Churches around us were and still are prosperity, health and wealth, hyper-grace churches. But thanks be to God, in the midst of such a famine, God still speaks through his word.” Excerpted with permission from Edison DSouza’s seminary application.
