Is Every Promise ‘Yes’? Old Testament Promises and the Christian

President Tim Tomlinson and the Board of Trustees invite you to join us for a lecture by Rev. Dr. Jason DeRouchie commemorating his promotion to Professor of Old Testament and Biblical Theology, becoming the first Bethlehem College & Seminary full professor promoted from within the faculty ranks. The lecture will begin at 7:00pm on Thursday, February 23rd at the downtown campus of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

“This past January my students spent a week with John Piper studying Future Grace: The Purifying Power of the Promises of God. Right after this, they entered my classroom querying how Christians can legitimately appropriate all Old Testament promises as our own, when God gave them to specific individuals or peoples in a different time and under a different covenant. I am redirecting my special lecture on February 23 to answer this question and to consider why and how every promise in Scripture is “Yes” in Christ. In the process, I hope that this lecture will supply further justification for Pastor John’s claims in Future Grace and help believers know how to faithfully claim Old Testament promises as our own.”
