People used to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up. While my answers changed with evolving interests, shepherding God’s people was never on my “probable vocation” list. That changed with my exposure to reformed theology through the expository preaching ministry of faithful pastors and teachers. The correct understanding of the gospel through the word of God magnified God’s love and grace exponentially in my eyes. I realized that the greatest gift of the gospel is God himself, that he is for me and not against me, that he satisfies me by giving himself to me, and that he is most glorified in me when I am most satisfied in him. The more I knew him through his word, the more I grew in my desire to make him known among his people.
This newfound joy in God and desire to proclaim his excellencies set me on a path that brought me halfway across the world to Bethlehem College & Seminary. My passion, to make God known among his elect in India, is being realized through your generosity to the Alex Steddom International Fund. My heart is overwhelmed with gratitude to God for you. I encourage you, my beloved brothers and sisters, by way of a reminder that your sacrificial giving has eternal impact and significance. And my prayer for you is that “You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God” (2 Corinthians 9:11).
