The Opportunity

Revive Church is seeking to fill a ministry leader position: Associate Pastor. The one who fills this role will be a man who is committed to the vision of Revive Church to Passionately Pursue Jesus Christ. We love Christ and want to make Him known in our community and around the world. Revive is committed to reaching our community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While all our leaders are bold in sharing Jesus in their personal lives, this role seeks to equip, challenge and assist our church family in advancing the Gospel. Secondly, we love our church family. This drives us to care for their physical and spiritual needs as they pursue Jesus Christ. This requires a deep concern for each of them as they face times of testing, hardship and brokenness. This ministry of mercy is a priority for this pastoral role.

The General Description

Aligned with the ministry philosophy of Revive Church, the Associate Pastor is responsible for shepherding (visitation, benevolence, funerals, etc.) and outreach by modeling a love for the Gospel, for the lost and for the community.

The Qualifications

Exhibit character traits in according with 1 Timothy 3:8–13 and Titus 1.

Be in alignment with Revive Church’s philosophy of ministry and doctrinal position.

Display zeal for Christ and the Gospel manifest in personal evangelism.

Love God’s people, manifested in the gift of mercy.

Be skilled at collaboration and team leadership that promotes church vision and unity.

Demonstrate “God’s Heart for ALL People” by reflecting within our church the ability to work well within a multi-ethnic church and community/intercultural setting.

Maintain confidentiality and have the ability to discern and use wise judgment.

Bible College and/or Seminary desired.

The Expectations

Work 40-50 hours per week in ministry, including office hours as necessary.

Report to the Lead Pastor.

Attend senior staff meetings.

Perform Sunday morning responsibilities as assigned.

The Responsibilities

Provide pastoral care and shepherding for adults.

Oversee and coordinate visitation, hospital visits, shut in care with the Parish Nursing and other volunteers.

Oversee benevolence and ensure each person hears the Gospel.

Oversee evangelism and outreach events.

Oversee, recruit, train and motivate lay leaders for shepherding and leadership on an ongoing basis to understand the overall vision of the church and raise up leaders who fit into that vision.

Coordinate and provide leadership for fellowship activities.

Help with weddings and funerals conducted at Revive.

Fulfill Sunday morning responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation levels and all benefits are set by the Lead Pastor and the Executive Pastor on an individual basis. All compensation is to be held in complete confidence.
