Position Summary:
As a key member of Providence Church’s NextGen team, the Middle School Director will
engage in evangelism and discipleship for sixth through eighth-grade students. This role will
work closely with the Pastor of Youth Ministries, Youth Ministry Coordinator, and Kid’s Ministry
Directors to cultivate a Christ-centered, relational, and safe environment for students and
families at Providence Church and the surrounding community.
Position Responsibilities:
● Build strong relationships with middle schoolers.
● Lead and coordinate the volunteer team in planning and executing the Middle School program on Sunday mornings at 11 AM during Providence’s 2nd service.
● Teach regularly (twice a month) at the middle school program.
● Recruit and mentor a dynamic team of volunteers.
● Work to develop the spiritual gifts of students and volunteers.
● Implement Youth Ministry Values and Culture within the Middle School Ministry.
● Work closely with the Youth Ministry Coordinator on all administrative needs.
● Partner with the Westside Community Center serving at least once a week in their after-school program.
● Oversee all communications for the middle school ministry through platforms such as Mailchimp, Instagram, and Planning Center.
● Plan and lead all monthly middle school events including a yearly Fall Retreat.
● Meet with the Youth Pastor at least twice a month for personal and ministry
development.
● Assist in running Prov Kids Camp in the summer and recruit adult and youth volunteers.
● Create a weeklong summer experience by partnering with another organization (Wydlife,
highpoint, etc.).
● Run seasonal midweek Bible Studies (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer).
Essential Skills and Experience:
● A clear testimony of faith and ongoing commitment to spiritual growth.
● Ability to build positive rapport with staff, parents, and students.
● A strong calling to reach and minister to middle school students.
● A powerful desire to teach
