Adjunct Instructor of Theology
J.R. Cuevas earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of California, San Diego (2006), a Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary (2011), and a Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching from the Master’s Seminary (2019). He currently serves as the Associate Pastor of Christian Education and Biblical Counseling at Creekside Bible Church (Cupertino, CA) and the Assistant Principal of Legacy Christian School (San Jose, CA). Currently a resident of California but having grown up in Hawaii, J.R. and his family will be moving to Hawaii in the summer of 2021, as it has been his ambition and stated goal to further the gospel and see disciples made in the region of his upbringing.
He is the author of Skillfully Surveying the Scriptures Volume 1: Genesis through Esther and The Danger of Hypocrisy: Coming to Grips with Jesus’ Most Damning Sermon, and an associate editor for With All Wisdom and Big Truth Little Books. He is certified by both the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (as a biblical counselor) and the Association of Christian Schools International (as a Bible specialist). He has been a keynote speaker for international pastors conferences in the Philippines, India, and Honduras.
J.R. is married to the most exemplary woman in the world, Kathy, and they have two wonderful children, Jayden and Emma.
