But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare. ~Jer. 29:7
Our students are engaged in volunteering at various ministries in Minneapolis. One of those is REVIVE Ministries. REVIVE is led by Bethlehem Seminary alumnus Frank Schmidt and Bethlehem College student Selah Glomski. It runs after-school programming at Hope Academy in order to create a safe context for relationships to develop. Whether it’s sharing a meal or playing games or studying God’s Word, their desire is for youth to connect with a godly mentor who will walk through life with them for the long haul.
Zach Boyum, one of our student volunteers shared, “Working with REVIVE has given me an opportunity to put my faith and education into practice through serving inner-city students. It has been such a joy to be able to show them the love of Christ in a very practical way by developing relationships and speaking into their life and context. The Spirit is working in extraordinary ways through the ministry of REVIVE, and I consider myself blessed to be a part of what the Lord is doing through this ministry.”
