Nate Thorne
Vice President of Admissions

Dear Friends of Bethlehem College and Seminary,

We have appointed Nate Thorne as our school’s new Vice President of Admissions.

Nate has over 20 years of experience in logistics management and sales in the transportation industry. He leaves his current position with Forward Air to lead the school’s efforts in recruiting and enrolling full classes of students across our college, seminary, and evening programs. Nate will begin his new role on August 15. I’m delighted that Admissions Director Ryan Deck intends to continue his service at least through the upcoming Godward Life conference to maintain our momentum in admissions and ensure a successful leadership transition.

This appointment of Nate Thorne to a long-term, cabinet-level admissions role aligns with our strategic initiative to accelerate admissions. Under Ryan’s able leadership of the admissions team, we have seen notable growth in our undergraduate enrollment and significant opportunities to promote our institution through conferences and media. We are preparing to welcome our largest ever class of incoming college students next month. In the season ahead, Nate and his team will build on this good work while focusing new efforts on highly relational engagement with like-minded churches, K-12 schools, partner organizations, and alumni to intentionally and systematically recruit students for all programs.

Not only does Nate bring proven skills and considerable business experience to this new role, more importantly he is an exceedingly well-satisfied parent and husband of Bethlehem College students and graduates, and personally connected to the growing K-12 Classical Christian education movement. Nate is well-equipped to serve as our institution’s chief recruiting officer in advocating to potential students our God-centered, Bible-saturated, historically rooted, remarkably affordable education in serious joy for years to come.

Nate earned a B.B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. He and his wife, Jacquelyn (B.Th. 2024), are active members of Bethlehem Baptist Church and reside in south Minneapolis. They are the parents of six children and two sons-in-laws that include two Bethlehem graduates: Daisy Schmitter, B.A. 2024 and Matteo Unger, B.A. 2024; and three current students: Laurel Unger, Jackson, and Cayle.

Please pray that God will use Nate Thorne as his instrument in advancing the mission of spreading a passion for the supremacy of God in all things for the joy of all peoples through Jesus Christ by equipping men and women to treasure Christ above all things, to grow in wisdom and knowledge over a lifetime, and to glorify God in every sphere of life, as we pray that he will likewise use us all.
