Where Faith and Learning Intersect

Share

Just a few weeks ago, I had the honor of walking across the stage, receiving my Master’s of Divinity from the very institution where I serve as Admissions Director—our beloved Bethlehem College and Seminary. This milestone marks the culmination of a four-year journey immersed in academic rigor, spiritual growth, and a life-changing community.

As I reflect on my time as a student, I am reminded of the countless moments where God’s hand was unmistakably present. From late-night study sessions fueled by prayer and perseverance, to deep, transformative discussions in our classrooms, it is clear that this school is not just an educational institution, but a humble place where faith and learning intersect in the most beautiful ways.

Little did I know that despite how far away I am from the beach in my native California, Bethlehem would become a second home, where I would form lifelong friendships and gain mentors who would shape my walk with God and set an example of a godly, Christian man. The faculty here are more than just professors; they are shepherds guiding us through the complexities of theology, the nuances of biblical languages, the practicalities of ministry, and become genuine friends who are there to support you through life’s joys and challenges.

Since I transitioned from student to Admissions Director last year, my belief in the mission and vision of our school has only deepened. I have seen firsthand the impact that a Christ-centered education can have on both college students and seminarians. Our graduates are equipped not only with knowledge but with a heart full of God and a desire to make an impact in the world for His glory.

As we prepare for a new academic year, I want to extend a sincere invitation to prospective students who are still discerning their next steps. We still have a few spaces left for this fall! If you or someone you know are seeking a college or seminary where you will grow intellectually and spiritually, where your faith will be cultivated and your calling clarified, do not hesitate to request more information! My team and I are eager to tell you more about our school and walk you through an application.

As someone who has recently travelled this path, I can attest to the life-changing experiences that take place here. It is a privilege to witness God-enthralled college students who’ve graduated as mature adults who are ready for the world, and my seminary brothers who are stepping into and equipped for  positions to shepherd God’s people with joy and biblical clarity.

Bethlehem is a special place. Join us, and become part of this special community.

In gratitude and faith,

Ryan Deck
Director of Admissions
