Coleman to Lead Rochester Site

Bethlehem College & Seminary is pleased to announce that Dr. David Rocky Coleman has been named Assistant Professor of Theology and Global Studies, as well as Coordinator of the school’s new extension site in Rochester, Minnesota.

“In yet another exciting and encouraging development at our school, Rocky Coleman is joining our faculty team and taking the lead in launching our newest extension site. His background, qualifications, and personality all line up with our deepest desire to spread our vision for God-glorifying education in this new location,” said President Timothy C. Tomlinson.

Dr. Coleman earned his Ph.D. at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2017. His dissertation was entitled, “An Examination of Richard Owen Roberts’s Theology of Revival.” He also earned a Th.M. at Southern in 2013, in addition to M.Div. and M.A. in Religion degrees previously earned from Liberty Theological Seminary. He received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Saginaw State University in 2006. His scholarly writing has been published in The Southern Baptist Journal of Missions and Evangelism.

“Rocky Coleman is a wonderful addition to the Bethlehem faculty as we establish an extension site in Rochester. He is a seasoned teacher and churchman who is committed to spreading a passion for Christ among the nations,” said Dr. Brian Tabb, Academic Dean. 

Dr. Coleman has served most recently as an adjunct professor at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and at Boyce College, as well as training coordinator for Reaching and Teaching International Ministry. He served previously as senior pastor of Saginaw Valley Baptist Church. He has been active in outreach to the nations during the past sixteen years, ministering to the peoples of Belize, Ecuador, and Mexico. Coleman is a member of the Great Commission Research Network, International Bulletin of Missionary Research, and Evangelical Missionary Society.

Rocky is a deacon at Redemption City Church in Rochester, Minnesota. He and his wife, Sarah, have four children.
